Dear Neighbour,
We are writing to provide you with an update on our project, Bloomsbury Quarter, previously referred to as the Holborn Links Estate, which primarily focuses on the refurbishment of 21 Southampton Row and Vernon & Sicilian House.
Watch Our Crane Installation
You can now watch a video of our crane being installed at Sicilian Avenue, an operation which occurred last month. We’re very proud the operation was conducted smoothly, causing minimum interruption to our neighbours.

With the crane now in place Sicilian Avenue is once again open to the public during all hours*
*Please note that there may be brief periods during which Sicilian Avenue could be temporarily closed for safety reasons. However, prior notice will be provided should such closures become necessary.
Current Construction Activities
Removal of materials and construction deliveries via the pitlane on 21 Southampton Row**
Deliveries of structural steel
Structural alterations within Vernon and Sicilian House
The main core area at the basement level is currently undergoing concrete underpinning to reinforce the existing structure in preparation for reconstruction and reconfiguration to accommodate the new core.
**Noisy works relating to demolition have commenced and will be ongoing until August 2024. Construction traffic is expected to increase as materials are removed, and new equipment and supplies are delivered. Our team is implementing rigorous mitigation measures, and on-going monitoring of noise, vibration, and dust levels to ensure they do not exceed agreed limits.
Next Public Construction Meeting To Be Held In May
Our next construction meeting public construction meeting is due to occur next month. The meeting is open for the public to attend, providing an opportunity for people to engage with the team and find out all the latest project updates.

General working hours:
In line with Camden Council policy, our normal working hours are:
· Monday to Friday, 8am – 6pm
· Saturday, 8am – 1pm
· No works will be undertaken on Sundays or public holidays.
